           Hatching is a multi-media installation consisting of an open soft sculpture “The Womb" , the soft sculpture of an imaginary womb creates a cocoon-like chamber that invites the audience to hear,  smell, and touch, and video installations  “Body and Landscape” lighting through the womb. 

            “The Womb" is a humanoid, marine-like large sculpture mostly made out of pork, and is hung up high. It has a door behind and could fit 2-3 adult audiences to stand inside.  
Materials: gelatin, glycerin, gut, plastic, water, red radish, linen, cotton, latex; Size: 6 feet tall, 5 feet in diameter.

            “Body and Landscape” 16mm video series consist of three separate videos: Microscopic Vegetables, Volcano Erupting and Macro Body.

            Hatching invites the spectators to revisit the experience of oneself in a pre-birth status as an embryo in the womb.  It reflects on the spiritual origins of life and life forces and evokes a closer look at the relations of humans, nature, and the universe. A grand zooming in and out gaze at biological skins, to see extremely close and through a vast lens shows the similarity in their visual structure, form, and texture. They mimic each other and show the homology of life forces and energy.
